WordPress’ Ping Optimizer

Jul 22, 10 WordPress’ Ping Optimizer

Are you using WordPress for your blogs? Then you need, not should “I get”, MaxBlogPress Ping Optimizer. This plug-in is a must if you are like most bloggers, and this includes me, that make several updates to a post; these updates can happen immediately after you hit the publish button or days later. Evey time that you update your post, WordPress re-pings your pinging services! This is a problem, as too many pings can get your blog blacklisted for abuse.

These pinging services are what allows your posts to be quickly indexed by several different sources, so this is one feature of your blog you definitely don’t want to lose.

Many times I find myself revisiting a post, for whatever reason, even months after, and I see a typo I should have caught or a sentence that just doesn’t make sense to me anymore, and I want to rewrite it. Or it could be just to update a post with current info.

The preview feature doesn’t work when you edit a post in the editor that has already been posted, you have to click Publish and then click on the Preview button to see your changes, that can cause many pings, too.
